Legislation Updates
One of ACI's objectives is to seek the introduction of better, more effective legislation to cover the sale and use of cable. Developments in legislation will be reported here.
Manufacturers, importers, traders and purchasers of cable can currently buy, sell and use non-compliant or unsafe cable in the UK market with little chance of being brought to account.
Case studies of problem situations where current legislation is ineffective or not applied will be listed here.
ACI will be working with Government departments and with Regulators such as Trading Standards and the Health and Safety Executive to ensure that existing legislation is applied with more vigour to cases of poor quality and unsafe cable.
ACI will also be seeking the introduction of revised legislation to improve the situation.
