Manufacturers

While most manufacturers produce cable that conforms to relevant standards there are those that, either intentionally or unintentionally, don’t. The ACI will highlight all instances brought to its attention where manufacturers deliberately set out to mislead the industry and public with sub-standard cable product.

Following the revised Low Voltage Directive and new guidance on CPR regulations, manufacturers should be aware that importers and distributors will need to be confident about information supplied by manufacturers as greater effort is being placed on ensuring safety regulations conform across the EU.

ACI wants all cable sold and bought for UK installation to conform to British (or relevant European/International) standards and to be independently third party approved.
